The start of a new year is one of the busiest times for people applying for new jobs but for the 17th month in a row the number of vacancies has fallen, making it an incredibly tough time for job hunters. In spite of this, many sectors are growing and for those looking for a new opportunity or to get their foot in the transport industry: Haulage and Logistics is one of the top sectors to target in 2024.
There are currently around 34,000 vacancies in the Transport and Storage sector and not all necessarily driving jobs. Other positions available include: HR, AI and Marketing. So really something for everyone.
Often, under-represented groups such as people from ethnic minority backgrounds, young people and women can receive help and support in gaining positions in this sector.
If you are someone who is looking for the opportunity to drive then you’re in luck as the Department for Work and Pensions offers specialist training to help you gain the right skills and qualifications. They even work alongside employers to help people secure interviews and increase chances of employment.
